This year we will kick off our festival season with a writers' gathering and discussion at the Coady and Tompkins Library in Margaree Forks, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Canada Day, July 1. Our panel of writers will include Leslie Crew, Lynn Coady, Carol Off, and others. The panel will be followed by our annual Picnic Auction on the stage behind the library. Attendance is free, with donations gladly accepted. All funds will go to support the library building, which is maintained by the Margaree Area Development Association (MADA)

Please join in the fun for our "Anything that can float" race down the river, between 1 and 3:30 p.m. The race will start off at Tanner's Run, ending at Doyle's Bridge, where we will have a barbecue and the awarding of prizes for the race, etc. This is a great event for the kids! From 4 to 5:30 p.m., the Stadacona Military Band will present a concert behind the library. Once again, all are welcome at no charge, but donations are gratefully accepted.
